Have A Chance Walk 2008

Dear CNJBTSG members, family and friends,
    The registration and donation parts of the website  of the Have A Chance Walk to Fight Brain Tumors 2008 has been opened.

To become a CNJBTSG team member for the walk, you must register at the Active.com website by going here Register Now!
On that site you will see "A Fastest"  which you can use if you already have a MyActive Account and "B faster" which you will use  to create a new MyActive Account. 
 
Most people will choose "New Account" which takes you to the form to fill out.  Enter your email address which will become your Username when 'Logging In' in the future. Note: Please write down your password and "Display Name" so you don't forget them. Then you complete the personal information. They ask you to put a "Display Name" and you get to pick the name (This is for a new feature they are putting in soon) and you could use a "screen name" you already use for another account or use something simple like I did Stan@cnjbtsg. Near the bottom of the page is a box you have to check stating that you are 14 years of age or older.  When the form is completed click "Continue".
 
You should now go to the "2 Accept Waiver" step. This is where you click "Team Member", read the waiver and click the box to agree to the waiver , check the box to agree you are 13 years of age or older.  When the form is completed click "Continue".
 
You should get to the "3 Complete Form" step.  In the "Select Someone to Register" select "Yourself". Later you will be given the opportunity to select "Someone Else" if you were going to be registering multiple family members at once.  Next to "Select a team", click the pull-down arrow and click on "CNJBTSG BT Bashers".  There is no 'Team Password'.  If you are registering yourself most of the other info should be already completed. You have to complete the items with a red asterisk(*).  For "Team Type" I selected "Club/Organization".  When the form is completed click "Continue".
 
You should get to the "4 Submit Payment" step.  If you have more people to register click "Register Someone Else" and fill in their information.    On my form there was "No Payment Due" so  I just clicked "Submit".
 
You should get to the "5 Print Receipt" step.  If you want you can print the waiver form.  Please read the letter from Have A Chance at the bottom of the webpage (copied below). You will receive several emails with information about the walk and your personal fundraising web page that you can personalize and where family and friends can make credit card donations.
 
If you want to become a team member and walk with us but choose not to register online I can print and send you the forms.
 
Please email or call me if you need help registering.
 
AND, yes, we are planning to hire another bus to take us to the walk if we get enough people who want to ride together. Details will be announced during the first part of September.
If you are interested in taking the bus with us, please send me an email with your name and how many will be in your group.

Dear Have A Chance Walk Participant,

Welcome and thank you for registering for the 3rd annual Have A Chance Walk to Fight Brain Tumors. The event would not be possible without your dedication and hope. Your fundraising efforts will support two non-profit organizations working together to find a cure to end brain tumors, Have A Chance and the Brain Tumor Society.

You've taken the first step forward by registering, and now you have a lot of support to help get you ready for the event. We will supply you with resources to meet your fundraising goals, guide you with starting or growing a team and help you spread awareness in you community.

To kick start your fundraising efforts, you will want to set up your personalized fundraising page and then encourage your family and friends to make their donations online. We ask our participants to raise or donate at least $75 to help us bring an end to brain tumors. A fundraising page has automatically been created for you. You can access your page by logging in with your username and password at: http://www.active.com/donations

We are in the process of constructing a brand new website while we launch the 3rd annual Have A Chance Walk to Fight Brain Tumors. Once the new website is up and running, you will have access to many resources, find important information about the event and continue to fundraise.
